Location: Barcelona / Valencia, SpainReporting to: Regional / Head OfficeAbout the CompanyWe are a fast-growing startup within an international trading group, expanding our presence in Europe through the opening of a new office in Barcelona (Catalonia).We are looking for a proactive and experienced Purchasing Manager who will become a key independent figure responsible for establishing and developing the company’s procurement processes. This is a unique opportunity to build an efficient procurement system from scratch in an international environment and play a critical role in the company’s growth and scaling in Spain.Key ResponsibilitiesNegotiation & ContractingConduct negotiations on pricing, volumes, and supply terms for raw materials and finished productsAlign product specifications (varieties, acidity levels, organoleptic characteristics, etc.)Conclude contracts and framework agreements with suppliersShipment & Logistics CoordinationCoordinate shipments (interaction with suppliers and logistics partners)Monitor timelines, volumes, and accuracy of dispatched goodsPrepare supporting documentation in collaboration with the back officeOn-site Quality ControlOrganize and/or conduct quality inspections at supplier facilitiesCollect samples and coordinate with laboratoriesEnsure compliance of products with agreed standards and specificationsInternal CollaborationProvide market insights, risks, and opportunitiesSupport procurement and production planningRequirementsEducationHigher education in agriculture, food industry, logistics, or economicsWork ExperienceMinimum 5 years of experience in procurement of agricultural products/raw materials in SpainProven hands-on experience in:Negotiating with local producersWorking with farmers or processing companiesExperience with olives and/or olive oil is a strong advantageProfessional Skills & KnowledgeUnderstanding of agricultural supply chains, including international supply chainsKnowledge of legal principles of international tradeBasic understanding of quality standards for olive oil and olivesStrong negotiation skills and ability to secure commercial termsAbility to work independently “in the field”LanguagesSpanish — fluent (C1–C2)English — fluent (C1–C2)
