Your Role Develop systems to ensure critical data is collected and lead data presentations to drive cross-functional decision-making. Develop and refine existing standards, ensuring that standards are applied to engineering designs within the business unit. Represent the engineering function in meetings where efforts from multiple units are planned and coordinated. Plan and guide the work of a business function defined by the performance of a unit. Manage employee performance, administration, goal setting, and budgeting. Oversee all capital asset projects. Lead a team of engineers, internal and external maintenance department workers, in full coordination with the supervisor and workshop manager. Maintain full coordination with production supervisors and manager, process optimization department, and the EHS team. Prepare preliminary estimates and schedules to secure funding for projects aimed at improving manufacturing processes and modifying facilities. Ensure projects have proper and usable documentation and specifications prepared for competitive bidding, construction, and system maintenance after completion. Prioritize these efforts to address manufacturing opportunities and achieve divisional goals as identified in the long-term plan and key strategic objectives. Determine whether external engineering resources, testing consultancy, or construction services are needed to complete capital projects in a timely and cost-effective manner. Improve efficiency and reduce production costs by introducing new technology into the manufacturing process, particularly in the areas of automation and data acquisition. About you Minimum of 10 years of experience in chemical engineering. Experience in planning, coordinating, and constructing chemical plants. Knowledge of piping, instrumentation, and common equipment in chemical plants (pumps, valves, flow meters, etc.). Advanced proficiency in chemical processes. Participation in HAZOP analysis of chemical processes. Leadership and guidance skills for engineering and maintenance teams.
