Experteer Overview As Senior DBA in the Platform Engineering team, you own the health, performance, and resilience of WebBeds’ cloud-first database estate on AWS. You’ll lead migrations and guide data-layer scalability, partnering with product teams to ship efficient, reliable data systems. You’ll tackle high-traffic workloads, implement DR strategies, and mentor peers while shaping architectural decisions. This role offers impact across deployment at scale and opportunities to influence data strategies in a fast-growing travel tech environment.Compensaciones / Beneficios
- Own production database health across AWS (Aurora PostgreSQL, Aurora MySQL, SQL Server on RDS, DynamoDB, ElastiCache for Redis, MongoDB) including monitoring, backups, DR
- Lead database migrations and re-platforming projects (e.G., SQL Server to Aurora PostgreSQL with Babelfish) and high-traffic cluster splits
- Optimize performance through query tuning, indexing, partitioning, and capacity planning using Query Store, Extended Events, Performance Insights, Datadog
- Design resilient DR processes, cross-account RDS access, immutable backups, and failover testing
- Partner with engineering teams on schema design, data migrations, and query reviews to accelerate delivery
- Champion security and compliance (encryption, access controls, audit logs, GDPR-aligned data hygiene, secrets management)
- Mentor and upskill other DBAs and engineers; share knowledge and raise standardsResponsabilidades
- 5+ years as a DBA with at least 2 years in senior/lead capacity
- Hands-on experience with SQL Server and MySQL/PostgreSQL (preferably both)
- Production DBs in AWS (RDS, Aurora, parameter groups, snapshots, cross-region replication, Performance Insights)
- Experience with NoSQL stores (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Redis) and choosing between relational vs NoSQL
- Strong backup, DR, and high-availability expertise
- Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Exposure to Aurora PostgreSQL Babelfish or SQL Server migrations is a plus
- Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform), CI/CD pipelines, and observability tooling (Datadog) desirable
- Experience supporting high-volume, low-latency systems (travel/e-commerce/fintech is a plus)
