Accountabilities The Tax Specialist will work within the team to ensure tax compliance for the Spanish entities, and will be required to: • Monitor the tax compliance obligations for the Spanish entities. • Ensure tax compliance for all taxes in Spain, including the preparation and submission of all relevant tax returns. • Ensure tax compliance for all taxes in the countries where the company has tax compliance obligations. • Detect areas for improving the tax compliance processes. • Support the Spanish tax team on tax proceedings and tax audits conducted by Spanish tax authorities. • Manage the communications received by the Spanish Tax Authorities and submit the responses to the mentioned communications. • Process journals and payment requests for all Spanish taxes and entities. Key Relationships / Interfaces • Head of Tax Spain and other members of the Spanish tax team. • Wider Group Tax team. • Tax team based in the Group business services centre. • Finance team. Required Skills, Qualifications & Experience • Demonstrable experience (5 years or more) as a Tax compliance specialist. • Degree in Spain Law and/or Economics/ADE. • Tax Masters would be appreciated. • Strong and demonstrable tax technical skills. • Proven background on Spanish tax compliance. • Essential to be fluent in English. • Solid accounting and finance knowledge. • Knowledge of SAP systems as user will be valued. • A proactive approach to work in order to acquire knowledge and awareness of the business activities so that he/she can provide commercially focused tax support and tax assurance. • Strong analytical and reasoning skills. • Excellent judgment and the ability to make decisions dynamically and assess acceptable levels of business risks. Capable of making decisions in complex environments. • Strong Communication Skills. • Organization & Control of his/her work. Ability to carry out and manage tax projects autonomously. Stress resistance. Accuracy in his/her work. • Team working: Good team worker: helps to build or enhances Tax and Business networks to make work more effective. • Commitment with the tasks and projects assigned. • Initiative and flexibility: the candidate should be able to look to do things better, faster and more efficiently. Should be able to adapt easily to changing environments. • Willing to travel.
