At Libeen we're reinventing access to homeownership in Spain. Our rent-to-own model lets people live in their future home while building up their option to buy. We're growing fast, closing a significant funding round, and building our tech stack from scratch. We're looking for a Tech Lead who builds — the whole thing. Not an architect who draws diagrams and delegates. The person who writes the first line of code, makes the stack decisions, and ships everything we need into production: the AI agents, the backend, the data, and the product users actually touch. For now you are the engineering team. You're paired with a Product Manager who owns the what and the why , while you own the how — front to back. As we grow, you'll hire specialists and the role narrows; right now, breadth wins. If the last time you committed code was two years ago, this isn't your role. What you'll do Build the foundation Stand up our tech stack from scratch — you choose it, you build it, you own it Make the calls: what we build in-house, what we buy, what we outsource Ship fast and keep it shippable. We measure idea-to-production in days, not quarters Build the AI agent ecosystem (this is the core of the job) WhatsApp lead qualification that actually converts Automated financial scoring with document reading Personalised property recommendations Real estate due diligence You'll architect these and build them — and design the data and feedback loops that make them better over time Create the moat The defensibility of Libeen's technology is something you'll build with your own hands: proprietary data, AI systems that improve as we grow, infrastructure that can't be bought off the shelf You should be able to walk into a room with an investor and explain, technically, why our tech is hard to replicate Build the product users touch The agents are the engine, but people still live inside an interface — the journey from first conversation to signing their home You'll build the frontend too: clean, fast, trustworthy. You don't have to love CSS, but you have to be able to ship a real product front to back without waiting for anyone Lean on modern tooling, component libraries and AI to move fast — what matters is that it ships and feels solid Set the engineering bar You're the first engineer and the standard for everyone who comes after Decide how we work: code quality, deployment, what "done" means As we grow, you'll hire and lead the technical team — but for now, you build What we're looking for 5+ years building software as a true fullstack engineer — backend, frontend and everything in between — and you're still hands-on Real depth in backend, systems and AI is where it matters most: that's the core and the moat. Frontend you can do well, even if it's not your first love You've shipped production systems end-to-end, ideally as a founding / first engineer or early lead Hands-on experience building with LLMs and AI agents — prompting, orchestration, RAG, evals, the real work, not just the demos Pragmatism over perfection: you know when to build it right and when to build it now You can make architecture decisions you'll have to live with, and own the consequences High energy, strong bias to action, and zero ego about doing the unglamorous work You want to build the thing, not just lead the people who build it (yet) Nice to have Experience in fintech, proptech or complex financial / regulated products You've integrated document processing, scoring, or messaging (WhatsApp / Twilio-style) systems You've been part of a 0-to-1 build and know what that actually costs You've helped tell a technical story to investors What we offer Full ownership of the technology from day one, working shoulder-to-shoulder with the founding team Competitive salary + phantom shares plan Hybrid model based in Madrid — we build together, in the room The chance to build something that genuinely changes how people access homeownership in Spain Our process Short intro call to get to know each other A working / technical session with a real Libeen case Final conversation with the founding team Languages ✔️ Fluent Spanish ✔️ Fluent English
