THE SKEYE, an executive search and headhunting consultancy, is currently searching on behalf of a leading publicly listed multinational company, part of the IBEX 35 a Technology Expert (Batteries & PV)The Technology Expert, reporting to the Group Head of Energy, plays a pivotal role in shaping and delivering advanced energy solutions across multiple countries. Key responsibilities include defining and standardizing battery and photovoltaic (PV) systems for widespread deployment, leading rigorous testing and homologation processes to ensure the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance, and managing vendor relationships to secure cost efficiencies. The role also involves developing innovative solutions for both client-specific and shared infrastructure models, designing control algorithms to optimize energy usage, grid balancing, and self-consumption. Additionally, the Technology Expert oversees the organization of a centralized Network Operations Center (NOC) to enable monitoring, predictive maintenance, and remote control of battery assets, ensuring operational excellence and reliability in all energy initiatives.Main responsabilities:Assess technical feasibility and regulatory frameworks to enable energy solutionscorporate energy technology lead: create centralized knowledgeDefine standard technical solutions for grid services, backup batteries, PV plants, etc.Support technical alignment of energy initiatives with utilities, Mobile Network Operators and regulators.Batteries ManagementSupport preparation and management of tenders: define technical specifications for different technologies of batteries.Prepare installation and maintenance manualsLead testing and homologation of batteries for different functionalities: back up, arbitrage and grid balancing, and different chemistry batteries (LFP, Sodium-ion batteries, etc.).Define technical specifications and tests for homologating power electronics: rectifiers and inverters.Define solutions for backup batteries in indoor/ outdoor sites, considering both client- dedicated and shared infrastructure models for cases where company manages energy but also if the energy is directly managed by Clients.Set up a NOC for battery monitoring (initially centralized in Spain) to ensure safety, reduceonsite intervention costs and enable predictive maintenanceDefine the health and safety criteria to be applied for each of the technologies, consideringregulatory and standards ComplianceSolar PVDevelop technical capabilities in PV at the corporate level to support initiatives and their deployment in local markets (e.g. Spain, Italy)Apply knowledge of regulations and compliance requirements related to PV projectsCandidate profileUniversity Degree in Engineering or similarSpanish & English FluentAt least 6 years of experience in technological roles related with Li-batteries.Previous international experience is highly valued.Relevant sectors: batteries, demand side response and energy sectors
