What You’ll Do
Analyze project requirements and identify research directions.
Research the state of the art, synthesize findings, identify research and technology gaps.
Conceptualize, design and implement AI and data solutions.
Communicate your results with the team and project stakeholders. If interested, join us in writing papers and presenting them in relevant venues.
Participate in writing project proposals – this is an opportunity to target projects and areas that we’re passionate about and seek funding.
Details
This is a full‑time position, in our Barcelona offices or any of our other local offices (Corporate offices of Eurecat in the territory).
The team works partly remote (2 days/week at the office).

Requirements
Must‑haves in a candidate
Passion for data and AI, with the added motivation for fair and trustworthy technology.
Experience in at least one of: explainable/interpretable AI, bias assessment, privacy enhancing technologies, AI/Data compliance.
You tick at least one of the following boxes: strong background in data science, Machine/Deep Learning, software development; MSc in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Bioinformatics, or similar field; convincing portfolio of data science projects sharable on Git.
You code: Python, R, Java, whatever you feel comfortable with. We appreciate clean and readable code, following coding standards.
You can manage and query both SQL and NoSQL databases.
Write grant proposals to fund the work that matters to us. From smaller, local project, to top‑grade, multi‑national European consortia.
Nice to Have
Prior experience with any of the following: data governance, data value, data markets, ontologies, knowledge management.
Experience with any of: Generative AI, Neurosymbolic AI, Federated Learning.
MLOps – You know how to develop and test AI pipelines, from data ingestion, processing, to model development and evaluation.
Extra points if you have already been exposed to Data Spaces.
