About the Role
As an Upper School History Teacher at ELIS Murcia, you will deliver engaging, rigorous lessons that bring the past to life for students across Key Stages 3 to 5. You will plan and teach well‑structured lessons with clear learning objectives, using assessment for learning to stretch and support all learners.
Preparing students for IGCSE and A Level pathways, you will develop strong subject knowledge, historical thinking, and independent enquiry skills. Working collaboratively within the Humanities team, you will contribute to curriculum development, moderation, and enrichment opportunities such as trips, debates, or themed events.
You will also play an active role in the wider life of the school, supporting assemblies, extracurricular activities, and our strong pastoral ethos, while upholding Cognita’s high standards for safeguarding and student wellbeing.
This is a permanent, full‑time role with a proposed September 2026 start date.
Who We Are Looking For
You are an enthusiastic and reflective History specialist with a relevant degree and QTS (or equivalent), confident teaching Upper School students and preparing them for external examinations. You bring strong classroom practice, excellent communication skills, and the ability to motivate students of all abilities.
You value collaboration, are committed to professional development, and enjoy contributing beyond the classroom through enrichment or co‑curricular activities. Calm, organised, and student‑centred, you inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a genuine love of History, while fully embracing our safeguarding culture and international school community.
