SUMMARY OF POSITION The Vice President of R&D will be responsible for overseeing the development of innovative pharmaceutical products and the advancement of the company's pipeline. Will be responsible for providing scientific leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight of the R&D function. The VP of R&D will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive the development of new therapeutics and ensure successful product development from preclinical development through regulatory approval. ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE This position will report to the Chief Scientific Affairs Officer and will support the department, as necessary. RESPONSIBILITIES Primary responsibilities of this role include the following: Provide scientific leadership to guide the development of innovative pharmaceutical products and ensure alignment with the company's strategy. Develop and implement R&D strategies to advance the company's pipeline and achieve key business objectives. Oversee the preclinical and clinical development of new therapeutics, including the design and execution of clinical trials, and the submission of regulatory filings. Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality, scientifically sound, and innovative drug candidates for development. Establish and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders, academic institutions, and industry partners to advance the company's R&D agenda. Manage and develop a high-performing R&D team, providing mentoring, guidance, and coaching to promote career growth and development. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards. Manage R&D budgets, resource allocation, and timelines, ensuring effective use of resources and alignment with corporate goals. Represent the company at scientific conferences and events, maintaining a strong external presence in the scientific community. Identify and develop formulation technologies applicable to potential product candidates. Manage the R&D teams in the execution of the pharmaceutical development program for generics and 505(B2) Provide scientific and technical expertise in the development of solid oral dosage form, topicals, injectables for EU and US market Responsible for the development strategy, planning and implementation of the company’s research programs Develop and budget resource forecasts related to the company’s research programs Work together with peers on key functions of Adalvo: Intellectual Property, Business Intelligence, PMO and Regulatory Affairs. Provides guidance, mentoring, and development of staff; ensures the team has appropriate skills, capabilities, and resources to meet current and future business needs. QUALIFICATIONS Ph D in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., pharmacology, chemistry, biology, or related field). Minimum of 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a track record of successfully leading drug development programs from preclinical through clinical stages. Strong scientific acumen and expertise in drug discovery and development, with a deep understanding of relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards. Proven ability to develop and implement R&D strategies that align with corporate objectives and drive pipeline advancement. Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and developing high-performing R&D teams. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and build relationships with key stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a sense of urgency and the ability to prioritize effectively. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and manage complex projects and timelines.
