Environmental Managing Consultant – Iberia (Madrid or Barcelona)
Location: Madrid or Barcelona, Iberia
Key Responsibilities
Project management of complex projects – local and international
Develop and manage Environmental & Social Impact Assessment studies/projects
Manage relationship with authorities, clients and contractors
Manage environmental and/or social critical aspects to ensure compliance with all applicable regulation with major emphasis on: IPPC Decree, EIA decrees, permitting
Define, coordinate and implement environmental monitoring plan
Identify and develop new project opportunities, prepare effective technical proposals and cost estimates, and maintain client relationships
Ability and flexibility to work across a range of services and sectors including: oil & gas, power (including renewables) and manufacturing
Provide compliance assurance of impact assessment studies with applicable local legal and institutional requirements (IFC, EBRD, etc.) and international experience in project finance
Qualifications & Experience
A master’s degree in environmental engineering (i.e. Ecology), Environmental Sciences or similar
Extended years of experience as Environmental Consultant in a Consultancy Firm
Previous experience as Project Manager
Proficiency in English and Spanish, written and spoken. Working knowledge of French highly valued, particularly for new projects in Francophone countries
Familiarity with EHS National Environmental regulation and International Standard (IFC, EBRD, etc.)
Proven experience in liaising with authority/decision makers and stakeholders
